One of my goals as a doula is to get the support you desire. I do offer payment plans and a sliding scale for fees. Contact me for more information and how we can work together to make this support happen for you!
All services come with a free consultation. I want to get to know you, your values, your expectations, and your desires for yourself and your family during your birth.
As a Doula, I Do Not:
Perform any clinical tasks
I do not perform clinical tasks, such as blood pressure, fetal heart checks, etc. I am here solely for physical and emotional support for both you and your husband/partner.
Make decisions for you
I do not make decisions for you. I will help you get the information you need to make your own informed decisions. I will also remind you if there is a departure from you birth plan.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
I will not speak to the medical staff regarding matters where health care decisions are being made. I can discuss your concerns with you and suggest options
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
This is YOUR birth. While I love birth and learning new things, will not project my own opinions into your experience. I will provide any information that you desire to help make your experience what you want it to be.
I almost didn’t hire a doula due to financial concern...but I’m so glad I did, and I’m so glad that doula was Maggie! She was an absolutely crucial part of my birth experience. As a first-time mom, I was so nervous about the whole birthing process; Maggie helped me through the nerves not only during labor but also by preparing my husband and me in the weeks ahead in pregnancy that we were working together. Among the things she did for us were comfort measures, helpful tips, and just being there to talk to my husband and me — grounding me and giving both of us confidence that we could do this. While medically my birth didn’t end up quite what I expected, I left the hospital with my healthy daughter happy with my experience thanks to Visitation Birth Doula!
Maggie was INCREDIBLE! By far the best thing we did in preparing for the birth of our daughter was hiring Maggie as our doula. It was so nice having someone in the room who shared our values, especially since I ended up having a fairly traumatic birth experience that involved going to a different hospital and having a different care plan than we had anticipated. An example of her dedication - she drove hours through a foot of snow to make it to the birth. Her presence brought such a positivity and peace into the room, which beforehand had been utter chaos. I don't think I would have made it through the birth without her! You will not regret having Maggie on your birth team.

I hired Maggie as my doula early on in my pregnancy, and her services were invaluable. Maggie is super sweet and made me know how important it is that I am informed about my birth. During labor and delivery, Maggie was exactly what my husband and I needed in the room with us. She had so many tricks up her sleeve to keep me comfortable, relaxed, and in control. After birth, I was able to use her as a resource for any help I needed with breastfeeding or postpartum recovery advice. I could not be happier with my birth and it's all thanks to Maggie at Visitation Birth Doula!
